After examining all your business options you have finally decided to buy a franchise. How are you going to raise money to secure your territory? There are various ways to raise finance to buy into your new opportunity.

Most banks and lending institutions require you to have a decent credit record and a percentage of the buying price in cash. However, if you have security in the form of shares, property or such like then some banks will be willing and able to fund a hundred percent of the purchase price.

The advantage of using your property as security is that it is possible to get a loan over a much longer term thereby reducing your monthly repayments. Be careful with this approach though, because if the business fails then your property is at risk.

If you have a poor credit history or are unable to provide security then it is still possible to raise funds if you can persuade a wealthy individual to be your guarantor. In the event of you not being able to repay the loan the guarantor will be required to make up any shortfall.

A good idea is to approach lenders that have special units set up especially to deal with franchise purchases. They can usually offer longer repayment terms and more favourable interest rates to people that fulfill their lending criteria.

Banks do not just look at how much money you are willing to commit and how much security you have to offer. They are also interested in the type of person you are and how committed you are likely to be in the business once they have given you their money.

If they believe that you have the ability to run a business, look presentable and you have taken the time to create a decent business plan; this will help you to secure the most favourable loan from the right lender. Lenders are more interested in your ability to to repay the loan than how much potential there is in your business idea.

It is good idea to take out insurance to help you meet the repayments if you fall ill or have an accident of some sorts. However, this is where most lenders make their best markup and it is not necessary to take out an insurance policy from your lender. It is far better to shop around as a number of companies specialize in this field alone and could save you thousands over the term of your loan.

Even if you have taken out insurance from your lender you will still have time to shop around as with most forms of insurance you still have a short cooling off period.

With the credit crunch it is now harder than ever to get a low interest rate loan but with a well prepared business plan and some cash or security, it is still possible to get the right funding solution that is ideal for your requirements. Speak to various lenders to find the best loan with the most favourable terms.

Your home business is just that: a business. The reason for the failure of so many people who start working from home with great expectations is that they do not approach it as a business, but more as a hobby. It is important that you have the right attitude, and the hints and tips provided here will help you to approach your work at home opportunity in a way that will help you to succeed rather than hinder you.

Set Your Goals

A very important aspect of working from home is to set your goals. The main goal is what you want from success. What is your ultimate aim? Is it to make $50,000 in your first six months, to buy that new sports car or to build a strong and stable business that will provide security for you and your family? No, it’s not a trick question with the obvious answer – any of these options is a good answer. The most successful entrepreneurs had specific goals in mind and worked hard to achieve them.

However, goals are not only long term: it is the shorter term goals that are more important and if you set and meet the short term goals, you will find that your ultimate goal suddenly appears more achievable. Set yourself monthly goals, weekly goals and more specific daily goals. Once you have set the targets then plan to succeed.

Plan to Succeed

You might have heard the hackneyed saying: ‘Plan to succeed, don’t plan to fail’. Hackneyed, but true, and unless you have a plan you will find it difficult to keep yourself on track with whatever it is you think you are on track for. Without a plan there can be no track. So, set yourself a time-limited goal and plan to achieve it. List tasks that must be done each day and don’t go to bed until you have completed them.

A Business, not a Hobby

Do not regard your home business as a hobby. Neither should you take advantage of not having a boss. I know it’s not easy to stop to watch that TV program in the afternoon, and one of the benefits of having your own business is that you can take time off whenever you need it, but remember the operative word: ‘need’, not ‘want’. Stick to your plan, and if you take an hour off for that TV program then work an hour later at night. Your plan is important to your goal – if you fail to stick to the plan then your goal will recede into the distance.

Use Shortcuts

You can make best use of your time if you use the labor saving devices that are available online. Let’s assume right now that your home business is internet based, which is a reasonable assumption or you would be unlikely to be reading this. Are you aware of all the keyboard shortcuts available with most word processors, including Microsoft Word? You can save a lot of mouse work by using these, and can even set up your own shortcuts. When you are typing and want to make your text bold, for example, don’t stop typing and go for the mouse, but press CTRL and B at the same time, and do the same to get back to normal type density.

You can set up shortcuts for your address at the top of letters, for your email address – type it with two keystrokes – and can also set up macros for more complex repetitive text such as your author’s resource if you write articles, your signature for emails or even to set up specific page formatting. Do you know that you can get password security systems that can hold all your login details as well as your personal details, and fill in logins for those pages full of boxes for your personal information with one click? What used to be an annoying chore can be done with a single click.

Meet Orders Whilst You Sleep

Use auto-responders to answer your emails, take orders, deliver electronically deliverable goods, accept payments and send receipts and thank-you notes – all while you sleep!

Although these appear to be simple things, and indeed they are, they save a lot of time because you should not be spending the bulk of your time with mundane tasks. Your main tasks will be to meet your daily and weekly goals, which must include an element of traffic targeting. In fact more than just an element, since traffic is the life blood of any business.

Spend your personal time on the important tasks in your plan and automate the rest. That is the way to keep to plan and meet your goal. Your home business will then be the success that it deserves to be with you in control, running a business and not a hobby.

So you have decided to take the plunge and start an all-natural bath and body business. Quite soon you will realize that in order to manufacture the products you need you will have to spend much more that you initially thought on bulk natural ingredients. Sometimes the cost can be several thousand dollars. This would be too much of an initial investment for an unproven venture, especially when you are on a limited budget. How can you test the market and still offer your customers a wide variety of products without breaking the bank?

One way to test a market is to buy ready made wholesale products before you risk time and capital on manufacturing the products yourself. This is a much better option as you can make mistakes this way that will not put your business at risk. If you buy 100 bars of wholesale soap to get started, choose 20 different varieties of fragrances to test. You can quickly determine which fragrances will be the most popular in your market before buying bulk quantities of expensive fragrances and having them sit in inventory. One of the best places to buy handmade soap for this purpose is http://www.thesoapguy.com. You will find that if your supplier has a large variety of fragrances you can do initial and ongoing test marketing very easily.

If you are going to include lotions as part of your line, you may want to buy a five gallon pail of natural unscented lotion. You can offer this in a dozen popular fragrances and wait for orders to come in. When you get an order you can the pick up your fragrance from a local supplier or order this fragrance from a reliable supplier that is close to your home. UPS will usually deliver within a day or two to any address that is within one state from your home. You can see their delivery charts on the UPS website. Make sure the fragrances you are offering are popular ones that your supplier has in inventory. I have found several suppliers that have one day turnarounds for their products and I rely heavily on them to allow me to expand my line without carrying extra inventory. Some more popular fragrances, such as vanilla, citrus, and lavender are going to be part of your inventory forever, so start stocking up on these as they will never go to waste.

Be sure and carry some expensive, upscale items, including gift baskets containing your products. You need not make these items in advance, but if you start to get orders for them, you you will gain invaluable market data as to the upper-end price points your market will support. You will also learn how to prepare for seasonal markets. I call these sales “found dollars” as this is not my primary market but is a very nice supplement to my main product line. This marketing also gives you added exposure to customers who might not have tried your products otherwise. If they like your products, they will continue to use them in the future.

Jeffrey Dorrian is the webmaster at thesoapguy.com. He has been making handmade soap for six years. “Handmade soap is a little luxury anyone can afford”. Premium wholesale old fashioned lye soap handcrafted especially for you.

I happened to be up way past my bedtime recently after drinking too much coffee and came across CNBC’s American Made broadcast on Starbucks…again.

I say again because I have seen the show probably twenty times and I can’t tell you how passionate Howard Schultz comes off during the interview. The most powerful aspect of the interview is the concept of the “3rd Place”, or the place you go and hang out between home and work. Now this truly is a terrific marketing concept. But it has to be a focus; it has to be part of the organization’s character because it would come off shallow and self serving if not executed properly.

Starbucks had this “mojo” but lost it. They lost it between the CD’s and the books, and the sandwiches and the espresso machines that provided precise measures of the particular shot called for, but also removed the artistic value from the baristas as well, not to mention the smell. It was amazing, I would get home from a business trip and my laptop bag still smelled of the last Starbucks I happened to call my home for a morning or afternoon.

This is 3rd Place really is an idea only a handful of organizations could take advantage of, and I think Starbucks is not doing such a great job of it right now. It seems that each new store gets smaller and smaller and therefore less appealing to pull out the laptop and spend some time knocking out a blog post, translation..buy more stuff.

Now, I am not sure if the store’s shrinkage is purely a square foot issue or does there appear to be more stuff for sale on the floor? As a shareholder, I am not complaining, please extract as much revenue from each and every one of us as possible, but also make the locations “homier” if you are genuinely looking to re-purpose the “3rd place” idea.

Most of my local Starbucks have moved away from the comfy couches and chairs and have opted instead for more traditional “table and chair” arrangements. The problem is it creates a sterile environment since the furniture looks like it is straight out of some eastern bloc industrial design shop. No form, just function.

Howard, make it a truly “3rd place” experience and the people will come, the students and the moms and the business men & women will flock to the locations IF you can bring back that “experience” you talked about. BMW, Polo by Ralph Lauren, and Apple have all created an image of cool for their customers, and Starbucks had it too. But it was lost and needs finding…quick.

How? Mr. Schultz, if I were you, I would take a page out of the great Jack Welch’s playbook and spend the next year driving this “3rd place” concept down every throat you can…along with a latte…and get the sexy back. That is after all, one of your key differentiators in the marketplace and that is what makes you different from McCafe’ and Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme.

Darren Starbucks blogs about all things Starbucks. He has been to over 300 Starbucks in the United States and has the expense bill to prove it! He is the head blogger at http://thedripp.blogspot.com talks about Starbucks the business and the brand.

There are many reasons that someone initially decides that it’s time to begin a small business or purchase a franchise. It can be very financially freeing to have additional income on the side, for some the desire to work at home and escape a commute or a cubicle is the driving force behind the decision to begin something new. Whether it’s a way to invest funds into a safe and profitable sector, or simply a passion for a service or product that the new business opportunity will provide one of the most important things in preparing to start a new franchise business is understanding what options are available and which options have the largest potential for success. There are many different kinds of small business opportunities and franchises for sale, but those options can be narrowed down considerably by asking two critical questions that help determine what type of small business opportunity is the right fit.

#1 What is the financial commitment to the franchise, liquid capital, total investment, and overhead cost?

Knowing what costs a small business is going to encounter is the biggest part of researching a franchise opportunity and the most important thing to figure out before any decisions are actually made about beginning a franchise business. Most providers, contractors, employees are going to need payment immediately or in advance for their services, while income from a new franchise or small business can be slow and in most cases will take at least 30-90 days to see any cash flow actually come out of a new business. With this in mind, the total amount of liquid capital available to a new franchise owner must be calculated carefully and understood so that the level of investment and commitment matches the financial requirements to make the franchise a success. For example if a franchise owner has a total liquid capital to invest in a new franchise business of $50,000, there needs to be a careful examination of what the costs will be of purchasing a “low-cost” franchise.

A Liberty Weight Loss franchise may appeal to the investor and advertises that their franchise requires a liquid capital of $46,000-$100,000. And while it’s true that the franchise can be run starting as low as $46,509, an investor with only $50,000 to spend on their investment will encounter extreme stress and an inability to purchase and provide marketing, promotional materials, discounts, and even basic equipment needed to make running their own franchise comfortable and successful. It’s much wiser to not shoot for the limit, but rather to find a franchise that is closer to the low to mid range of liquid capital available and use the additional finances available to insure success and satisfaction to all those involved in the initial phases of beginning a franchise. Something such as CompuChild which is a franchise that teaches basic computer skills and typing in a classroom format to children requires a liquid capital of $20,000, which leaves the investor with plenty of extra capital to use to pay contractors, suppliers, and market their business without needing to see revenue first in order to promote and maintain the new business.

#2 What is the skill set, type of franchise, service, or product that the franchise owner is capable to provide and competent to lead?

The second most critical thing that needs to be answered about a franchise is what type of franchise will it be. Because a DVDNow kiosk franchise fits the right price; range for an investor does not necessarily mean that DVDNow franchises are the perfect fit. There may not be a passion for the video rental business, there may not be a desire to service machines, or a desire to be in a relational business might not be met in a kiosk service style franchise business. It’s important to know that within every price range for investors there are multiple franchise opportunities and the most successful franchises are those that are run by businessmen and women who understand the product or service that they are providing and are passionate about that franchise. Even with a more specific desire for a franchise like being able to work at home, there are many franchise that are home based businesses. Working from home doesn’t mean the franchise is limited to internet based tech services, though there are many of those available. It can also be businesses such as Stay at Home, which is a business that is operated from a home and provides in home care and services for customers that are elderly or homebound. There are tutoring centers like Mathnasium, and community building franchises like Virtuoso music, which teaches music lessons in homes and coordinates community events, concerts, and recitals. All of these franchise opportunities are home based, and each one fills a different niche and requires different skills and passions to operate.

Knowing what the cost will be of a franchise, and not just the advertised cost but the actually day to day operating costs will help narrow the choice to businesses that are affordable and likely to succeed within the financial limits of the investor. And combining that knowledge with the knowledge of what type of service or product the franchise owner is capable to deliver can help focus the choices even more to the type of franchise opportunity that will have greater and greater chances of being a successful business. Being able to work from home and run that small business well can provide all of the things that franchise owner’s dream of when deciding to start their own businesses. The chances of achieving that greatly increase when time and care is put into researching the franchise beforehand with the same passion and care that will eventually go into running that successful business.

This article discusses the techniques of Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP that can have the most impact on your business or professional life. These are skills that are taught in our NLP courses in New York. The first part of the article will deal with techniques 1 through 5, the remainder will appear in part II.

1. RAPPORT

Rapport is a state that exists between two or more people that leads them to believe they are “on the same page”.

Rapport is essential in any business interaction. When individuals are in rapport it leads to mutual respect, and trust. When you have rapport:

• Clients will buy your products

• Subordinates will eagerly follow your directions

• Colleagues and superiors will respect your view

Many books offer techniques to build rapport, mainly around matching the posture or the other person (often called anchoring). While these techniques are valid, they run the danger of being artificial. The other person is likely to notice if you “try” to match them, and it is possible they will consider your behavior to be manipulative.

In fact, when rapport is natural, matching occurs as a matter of course. Look round the next time you are in a restaurant, coffee shop, bar or other public place. You will see groups of people all sitting or standing in a similar way, with similar posture and physiology.

What this means is that if we can find a way to get into natural rapport with the for example a client in a business interaction, everything else follows naturally. Neuro Linguistic Programming has a great technique for getting into rapport naturally:

• As you speak to the other person, soften your gaze, so you begin to notice your peripheral vision

• As you do so, you will begin to notice movement all around you

• As this skill builds, you will begin to notice the other persons breathing

• Begin to breathe at the same rate

As you breathe at the same rate as the other person, you will naturally attune to their movements, physiology, gestures etc. You will naturally begin to match these without thinking about them.

2. CALIBRATION SKILLS

Neurolinguistic programming teaches that each and every one of us has a unique and distinct “map of the world”. This map tells us how things are, how things work, and what rules apply in the world, for us. Each person’s map is different. Understanding this principle is vital in understanding our employees, business colleagues, customers and clients.

A map includes elements such as:

• Where does that person locate things in space? You can tell by where they look and where they gesture.

• What words are important to them?

• What values are important?

• What do they believe about themselves and the world?

• What patterns do they use in their behavior?

Calibration is all about respecting and being curious about the other persons map or the world, including the above elements. Calibration includes using our eyes and ears to notice:

• The words that the other person uses.

• The gestures that they use.

• The physiology that they adopt.

• Where their eyes move when they speak about various things.

• How do they organize time?

• What do they talk about as being important?

When we have this information, we can use it to influence the other person by pointing out the ways in which the thing that we want is aligned with what is important to them. Doing this in a way that uses their words, gestures and physiology will be extremely effective in being influential in business

3. ANCHORING

Anchoring is a neuro linguistic programming NLP technique that involves attaching a specific internal state to an external stimulus. Here are some common business examples:

• The boss who only wants to see you when there is a problem. Every time you see him you think “Here we go again”.

• The salesman who only calls to sell you something; “Tell him I’m busy”.

• The colleague who always whines about his life “Oh, Joe’s at it again”.

• The subordinate who comes round with problems for you to solve “Don’t I have enough to do!”

Here are some more business anchoring examples:

• The boss who walks round encouraging his employees “He’s great!”

• The salesman who calls to make sure the last thing you bought is working fine (and invite you to the golf outing) “Put him though!”

• The colleague who comes round to offer words of encouragement “Joe’s on vacation? How will I manage?”

• The subordinate who offers three solutions to every problem “That’s a great kid, we need to keep him!”

Be positive most of the time, and people will feel good when they see you coming.

There are times we need to deal with business customers, suppliers, and subordinates in a way that is less than positive. Make sure that this is done is a consistent way; ask to see them in the same place for each of these, or stand in the same place in your office, use the same tonality in your voice, the same expression. When you have done this a couple of times, you will find that all you need to do is stand in that place, or use that tone or expression. Words will be unnecessary.

4. BELIEFS

Henry Ford said it best: “Whether we believe we can, or we believe we can’t, we are probably right”.

Our beliefs deeply impact everything that we do. Those who believe they “can’t” do something don’t try, or if they do they set themselves up for failure. On the other hand, those who believe they “can” get right on and do it. Those who succeed in buisness or professional life have positive beliefs about themselves and the world.

Fortunately beliefs are ultimately under our own control. NLP gives us several tools and techniques for changing beliefs. Ultimately these involve changing our reference experiences, memories and the meaning we attach to those memories. When we are able to accept beliefs as what they are, i.e. our temporary and changeable view of how the world operates, then they become flexible, and become “useful” or not-useful” rather than “true” or “false”.

5. VALUES

People’s behaviors reflect those things that they value. A company or other business organization behaves as the sum of the individuals, and the organizational systems that make it up.

Neuro Linguistic Programming teaches the importance of values. Values are used in NLP to supply leverage to assist a client to change.

Therefore only by creating and holding individual values which advance the objectives of the business organization, will the behavior of the individual employees be aligned with corporate goals.

Values operate at every level of an organization:

• The business organization has a culture which includes certain corporate values

• Separate business lines or groups within the organization have values, which may or may not be aligned with the values of the organization

• Individuals within the organization have their own individual values

Be ensuring the that the business organization has clearly stated and ethical values, by which it actually operates, can it hope to have the values of the groups within the organization, and values of the individuals within the groups, aligned.

This is part II of a two part article identifying the top 10 NLP techniques that can be used in business.

6. META MODEL

Neurolinguistic programming’s Meta Model is a tool to understand, on a deep level, what people are saying. It is extremely useful in business as well as in other areas of life.

Suppose Bob reports to you “All my projects are going well”. You might feel happy about the situation, and then be surprised a week later when a major client calls up complaining that he has not received the report your company promised him. You are blindsided and embarrassed.

Upon speaking to Bob, you may find, for example:

• He had forgotten you had assigned the project to him; or

• Although he knew the deadline the client had given, he actually knew the project would take two weeks more than that, and was pleasantly surprised that he was only one week behind schedule.

If you had used the meta model you might have asked:

• What projects in particular are going well?

• What does “going well” mean? Are they on time? On budget? Is the deliverable up to the standard the client is expecting?

Had you asked these question you might have avoided the embarrassing call with the client. The Meta Model provides a framework in business for becoming aware of where the gaps in your information are, and tools for filling in those gaps through questions.

7. PERCEPTUAL POSITIONS

Perceptual positions are a concept in Neuro Linguistic Programming that refers to the concept of “I”, “You”, “We”, “They” etc. These positions are vital for effective business decisions.

When we experience the world, we tend to do so from the position of “me” or “I”. What do I want? How will this affect me? While this is a perfectly valied way to see the world, it is not the only way. When we realize this and internalize this knowledge, then we can begin to gain further valuable information about the business issues and the world around us.

We can begin to ask questions like:

• What do I want out of this?

• What does my client want?

• What does my boss want? What do my colleagues want?

• What answer will best serve the interests of all the parties?

• How will this impact on the organization as a whole? How will it affect the relationship between the organization, its customers and suppliers?

• How will it affect investors, shareholders and lenders?

• How will this affect the wider system? The world?

• How will it affect all these parties tomorrow?

If all business decisions were made after considering all the possible perceptual positions, they would likely lead to better results and less disastrous decisions!

NLP offers systematic tools for considering a situation from multiple perspectives, and to do so in such a way that we truly experience the situation from thus other business perspectives.

8. STRATEGIES

In Neurolinguistic Programming, a “strategy” does not refer to a corporate plan, or financial structure, rather it refers to the way in which an individual does (or does not do) something..

Neuro Linguistic Programming states that we make decisions and undertake behaviors in a systematic way, which is to say that the we will be doing the same things within our mind each time we make a decision or undertake a behavior. This explains why people have the same problem all the time (or nearly all the time): they are always, or nearly always, late with their projects, or always early; they always get on well with clients, or always get on badly.

By studying the strategies of employees who out-perform, or underperform, their peers, we can identify what strategies work in the business, and which do not. This allows us to:

• Help underperforming employees to change their under-performing strategies; or

• Systematically teach the skills of business superstars to other employees.

Similarly, studying the strategies of clients, for example their buying strategy or their regret (or non-regret) strategy, we can increase sales and create loyal customers.

9. META PROGRAMS

Neuro Linguistic Programming teaches that each individual is unique and their world view, beliefs, values, memories, experiences, skills etc are unique.

The closest NLP gets to general classes of behavior is in the NLP concept of Meta Programs. Meta Programs are extremely useful in business because it offers a quick and easily applied tool for determining an individuals strengths and weaknesses, and how they will react in a given situation. In this sense it is similar to the Myers Briggs or similar tools used in business, for example in recruiting. The benefit of the Meta Program system is that it allows the information to be gathered in a purely conversational manner, using a relatively small number of simple questions.

10. COACHING PATTERN

Dealing with employees, suppliers, customers and other individuals in a business environment can be difficult precisely because they are individuals.. As a result they have good days and bad days, and if we have to deal with them on a bad day, watch out!

The neuro linguistic programming coaching pattern allows us to conversationally change a persons mood, and move them into exactly the resourceful state they need to have, exactly at the time that they need it.

The coaching model is one of the many patterns and techniques we teach on our NLP trainings here in New York.

In your search for free hosting for your website, you have probably realized already that there are hundreds, possibly thousands of services on offer. They all want your business, they are all free and superficially it seems they all offer much the same thing.

So how do you choose between them? Does it actually matter which free website hosting company you use, since you are not paying for it anyway? Shouldn’t you just go with a free service which has thousands of (presumably) happy customers already, like Geocities, Tripod or Fortunecity?

For the answers to these questions, let’s think about what you actually want to do. Whether you are creating an ecommerce site and hope to make some money, or just doing a hobby or special interest site, you want people to actually see your pages on the free hosting site.

This means that you want the free host to serve the pages reliably, with minimum downtime. While no host, paid or free, can guarantee that your site will always be up, you want your pages to be available 99% of the time or more. This is the area where the difference between a free host and a commercial host is most apparent. Check the hosting forums before signing up – any excessive downtime will be receiving comments and complaints. Or see if you can find an uptime guarantee.

Assuming you want people to see your pages, you need a reasonable bandwidth allocation. Free hosts usually set a limit for each customer for each month, and this limit can range from 500MB to 2GB or more. If you are planning to serve large image files, audio or video, the lower limits will be too small, so that will affect your choice of free host.

In addition, storage space on free hosts is often ridiculously limited – some are still offering 10MB, which is too low for almost everyone. Such limits are designed to stop users using the free space for image hosting.

Many free website hosting companies don’t give you much control of page layouts, because they only allow hosted pages built with their own internal web-based sitebuilders. Unless you have very simple requirements, this type of free hosting is of limited value.

Then there is the advertising which most free hosts will put around, beside, under or over your hosted pages. Nothing suggests ‘cheap and unprofessional’ about a web site more than excessive advertising unrelated to the content of the page. Most free web hosts can’t determine what a hosted page is about, so they slap on general or branding ads for which they are paid per thousand views. If you care about the impression your pages will give to your visitors, try to look at web pages on a particular free host to check if the advertising is acceptable.

You may believe that none of these issues really matter, since you can just take your site away and have it hosted on another free website hosting service if there are any problems. But there are significant drawbacks to this. If you change hosts, you change your URL, and the search engines will need time (usually several months) to find, spider and index your pages, and your traffic is likely to die in the meantime. You’ll need to delete the old pages to avoid duplicate content penalties. Users will have bookmarked your pages on the old host, and won’t be able to find the new one. And so on.

It is better to select a good free host in the first place, and stay with them. Or even find a cheap paid hosting service – most people can afford $5 a month, which will now get you very good and reliable hosting, with none of the issues and drawbacks covered above.

If you are getting into affiliate marketing then you may already know that the best way to make money is to have a lot of people selling under you. This is because, a lot of times companies will give you a percentage of whatever people makes under you. So in theory, if you could get enough people selling under you, you would be able to make tons of money without lifting a hand.

Now that brings us to the question of how to locate, recruit, and motivate your affiliates so that they become “super affiliates!” This is not a task that should be taken lightly, and this is not a task that is going to be done overnight. However, if you put some effort into things, then you may be able to have a six figure income from sitting at home; it’s not as crazy as it sounds.

The first job you have to do is locate the people that would be interested in being your affiliate. The best places to look for these kinds of people are on forums. The best forums are the work from home forums that are out there. That is because you are going to be surrounded by people that are looking to make money from home anyway. This will make your next step easier which is recruiting.

After you find these people, you can not just end your task. You now have to get them to join under you. This can be done easily by making a blog site and sending people there. On the blog site you can talk about how easy it is to make money and all the different ways they can earn. It’s always easier to make a blog site for people to visit. That way you do not have to keep telling everyone over and over again what being an affiliate is.

Now that these people have joined you, all you have to do is sit back and relax, right? No, actually now you have to get these people started. Once people start making money, it is likely that they will be doing this job forever. However, you have to get them started making money first. This is why it’s important to help walk them through their first sales. The people that you help out are more likely to become super affiliates than the people you do not help out. People do not like to go into anything alone.

Make sure to provide great customer support. Try to answer your e-mails right away or at least in the next 24 hours. Create free reports, videos, teleseminars. If you don’t provide these tools, they won’t make money as fast promoting your affiliate program. Keep in mind that affiliate marketers work hard doing what they do. They are looking for a reasonable return for their actions. Many top selling affiliates are out there and with the right bait they can join your affiliate program.
